CSS Specificity

I was always under the impression that with CSS, whenever two rules conflicted with each other, whatever came last would be used. I started to think this might not be the case just the other day when a website didn't behave the way it should have. Since the behavior wasn't particularly important in this case, I simply ignored it and went on with my work (don't you love tight deadlines?).

But today I was browsing through a new website I came across, and found this page: CSS Specificity (HTML Dog). I wish I had've known that a bit earlier! Better late than never I suppose.
